Thank you for considering American Presidents in your plans to visit the beautiful Black Hills of South Dakota. Our facilities consist of American Presidents Motel, one mile east of Custer, SD on highway 16A and American Presidents Resort Cabins and Camp 250 yards south of the motel nestled in the pine trees on 50 quiet acres. We are a family oriented Resort specializing in family reunions.

Our facilities are very popular for family reunions and other groups. We have a large reunion center with a kitchen that accommodates 150 people and rents for $199 per day. We also have a smaller reunion center with a large deck that can accommodate 50-60 people and rents for $99 per day. We also have two outdoor picnic shelters with electricity and picnic tables that may be reserved at no charge. All lodging and meeting rooms are available on a first come first serve basis. Please call for availability.

If you are planning a vacation or reunion and would like to have it at American Presidents, you must first decide on dates for the gathering and then call for availability. We will hold any number of rooms requested for a reunion in the name of the reunion organizer for 60 days. Then each individual family may call to reserve the lodging in their name and pay the deposit. We require a first night deposit to hold the reservation and accept personal check, cash or credit card. All deposits must be received within 30 days of the date the reservation was made.

Guests will be responsible for the dates they reserve. If you must cancel your reservation a refund will be given with at least 30 days notice for cabins and 72 hours notice for campsites. There is a $20 cancellation fee for cabins and $5 cancellation fee for campsites. We will only refund the deposit if the cabin is re-rented. Due to our primary season lasting only 3 months we are unable to make exceptions to this policy.

Pets are allowed at our campsites but not in our cabins or motel lodging units. We ask that you not bring a pet that is aggressive towards strangers or other animals. Pets must be kept on a leash at all times and are not allowed to be left unattended at your campsite. Pet owners are responsible for cleaning up after their pets and disposing of the waste in outdoor garbage cans.

We are located in the "Heart of the Black Hills," near Mt. Rushmore, Crazy Horse, Custer State Park, Jewel Cave and Wind Cave. We have a wide variety of attractions to interest all ages just minutes away. The office is well stocked with brochures and informational material and our staff will be happy to assist you.
